Friday, June 11th :: Jordan Galland and the GOASTT Play Union Pool

Last on stage opening for Rufus Wainwright, Cibo Matto and Adam Green, Jordan Galland will perform on Friday, June 11th at Union Pool in Brooklyn. Also playing is Sean Lennon’s latest musical endeavor, The Ghost of a Saber Toothed Tiger. Doors open at 9pm, tickets are $10 and available at www.brownpapertickets.com. This show is 21+.

Galland will perform material from his debut solo album, Airbrush, and 2010 release Search Party, showcasing mangy guitar, colorful brass horns and a dreamy mix of pop vocal arrangements. Equal parts spooky rock & roll and saucy lounge act, Galland takes cues from the Talking Heads, Springsteen, Leonard Cohen and Serge Gainsbourg to name a few.

Prior to his two solo-releases, Galland was perhaps best known as front man for East Village rock band Dopo Yume (for which Lennon occasionally moonlighted on guitar) and songwriter/guitarist for Domino, the NYC based brainchild of Mark Ronson. Since then, he’s contributed tracks to Daniel Merriweather’s 2010 release Love & War (Allido Records), the motion picture soundtrack for 21 and Sean Lennon’s Capitol Records release, Friendly Fire. Most recently, Galland joined forces with Van and Casey Neistat, providing music for the brothers’ new HBO show, premiering this June. As if that weren’t enough, he also wrote and directed the feature film, Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Undead, starring Jake Hoffman and Devon Aoki, also premiering nationwide this June.
